HSK ( Han yu Shui ping Kao shi ) is a series of internationally recognized Chinese Proficiency Tests conducted by Hanban , also known as the Confucius Institute, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education, China. These tests are specially designed to test and rate the Chinese language proficiency of non-native Chinese language learners.
There are several HSK centres all over the world including in India, and the tests are held several times a year for the convenience of students. There is an easy online registration process available where one can choose a convenient date and test centre.
YRCA has been authorised to be an HSK Test Centre by the Chinese Language Centre, VIT.
HSK Tests’ Details:
There are 6 levels of HSK written tests. HSK Level 1 and Level 2 require knowledge of Conversational Chinese and the PINYIN system of romanisation to represent Chinese words. HSK Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 require the ability to read and write Chinese characters also.
How are HSK Tests useful?
- For admission into higher education institutions in China, an HSK certification will add value to a student’s resume and give them an edge in the selection process.
- HSK certification increases the employability of a person. There is a lot of collaboration between Indian and China today in the business world, which in turn has created a demand for people who are HSK-certified.
- HSK tests are also a useful tool for a Chinese learner to assess his own Chinese language skills and motivate him to improve on them further.
